channel buttons don't work (TV or Remote)

I moved my TV to a differnet room and reprogrammed my spectrum remote to use on the TV.  After using the universial, the channel buttons on the side of the TV or on the remote no longer work.  Every time I try to change the channel, the source comes up on the screen. You can't move off the one cabel channel it was on before the issue started.

I have tried to auto channel select but it never finds any channels.  I can't find anyway to reset the TV back to factory setting.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Best Buy Support Online Forum Community! We’d be happy to see what advice we can share with you regarding your 26” Insignia TV. It is an older model, but we’d be happy to see what advice we can share with you.

 

Can you please try to roll your remote button side down on a hard surface after removing the batteries from it? It’s possible one of the buttons could be stuck. What kind of “cable” do have connected to it? Is it over-the-air, coax cable, or another source directly from your cable provider via a cable box?

 

While reviewing your TV’s User Guide, I can see that your TV doesn’t have a reset button or one option to automatically default your TV to factory settings. Can you please try to hold down the power button on the TV for 15 seconds? Sometimes that’ll force the TV to do a factory reset. We look forward to your reply to continue to see what advice we can share with you.

Thanks for your response.

 

I took the batteries out of both remotes - universial and original TV remote.  The channel buttons on the tv still do not work. I believe this rules out a problem with the remotes.  I tried holding the power button down but it did not reset the TV.  The tv was working fine until I attempted to program the universial remote.  It is like the process of programming the remote caused the channel buttons to stop working.  Before programming the universial remote, the tv worked fine in the new location.  It is connected to a Cisco DTA170HD cable box.

 

Thoughts?
