Is there an energy saving timer?

I have a NS-24D420NA16 and I use it as a monitor with a HDMI cable.  I have my Mac Mini set up to use an energy saver.  How can I set that up on monitor?

Re: Is there an energy saving timer?

Hello there,

I am not quite sure if I understood what you're trying to do. The TV's display will go off when their is no active or continous signal being sent through. Their is also a sleep timer that be set up ranging from 5-240 minutes. Additionally, under picture settings, energy savings mode is an option. The user manual can be found here.

Hopefully any of these suggestions covered your inquiry. Take care!

Re: Is there an energy saving timer?

Hello gday1952,

Welcome to our community.  You should be able to set the sleep timer on your Insignia™ TV by following the steps below.

  1. Press MENU.
  2. Press ◄ or ► to highlight SETTINGS, then press ▼ or ENTER.
  3. Press ▲ or ▼ to highlight Time, then press ENTER or ►.
  4. Press ▲ or ▼ to highlight Sleep Timer, then press ENTER or ►.
  5. Press ▲ or ▼ to select the amount of time before your TV turns off automatically. You can select Off, 5, 10, 15, 30, 60, 90, 120, 180, or 240 minutes.
To turn off the sleep timer, select Off.
  6. Press ENTERMENU, or ◄ to return to the previous menu, or press EXIT to close the menu.

I hope this helps.  If you have any further questions, feel free to review your product's user manual found here.

Thank you for writing to us.

Re: Is there an energy saving timer?

I am trying to program my monitor to automatically come on and turn off when my computer does.  I can only set it for 3 hours using the sleep timer.  I have the energy savings mode turned on.

Hi gday1952,

Although I can't guarantee the feature would work with your computer being connected to the TV, you're welcome to review the section titled "Turning TV Auto Power On on or off" in the user manual here.
