Got the tv home and plugged in all the HDMI devices. Cable, blu ray and Xbox. Connected the optical audio cable from the tv to the a/v receiver. The audio from the cable box works fine. All the programs that have DD 5.1 comes through fine. When I switch the tv input to blu ray the audio only comes through as PCM. I still have a separate audio cable conneced from the blu ray directly to the receiver and when I switch the input on the receiver to dvd the audio come through with DTS no problem. I have checked the settings on the tv and they seem to be fine. I also checked the audio settings on the dvd and they all seem to be right
Also the volume level for the dvd is lower than the cable box when switching between the two

In regards to the sound level variances between your inputs, it’s completely normal as the signal can differ and the dynamic range can vary too. Given the information you shared with us, it does sound like everything is connected correctly. Have you checked out our troubleshooting guide?
