DVD Player Black & White

I have my DVD player plugged into AV2, my yellow cable is plugged into the Y on the back of the TV and my audio cables are plugged into their inputs.  However, all I can get my DVD player to play in is in black and white.  I've moved the video cable all over and it either just puts up white lines, with audio or nothing at all.  What am I doing wrong?

Re: DVD Player Black & White

Hello again bakstreet,

I consulted the owner's manual for your TV and and online troubleshooting tips for the Playstation 3.  I would recommend ensuring that your TV is set to factory defaults and that you reset the Playstation to factory defaults also.  In addition, you should check the cables and verify that they are all connected securely.  If these steps don't resolve the problem, you may need to seek service.  If the problem persists and the TV functions for all other uses, the issue is most likely with the Playstation.  I hope this helps.

Sincerely,
John

Re: DVD Player Black & White

It's just a DVD player, not a playstation.  The TV is only 7 days old so hopefully it's not a problem with that.  The dvd player works good with all of our other tv's.  I'm only using the yellow, red & white cables to hook it up is that cool?

Re: DVD Player Black & White

Hello bakstreet,

I apologize for the confusion.  In trying to offer solutions for Insignia™ enthusiasts, I got a couple of posts mixed up.

I'd still recommend making sure that the cables are secure and that both products are set to factory defaults.   Failing that, new cables may be an option.  Again, if the TV functions for all other uses, the DVD player is probably the culprit.  Let us know what happens!

John
