Purchase online under guest account cause I couldn't access my Best Buy account

Hello,

 

I just made a fairly large purchase on Best Buy.com website. I had an existing best buy account but couldn't remember the password. I requested a password reset however the email didn't come over in a timely manner so I just went ahead and made the purchase under guest account. At check out I tried to use my credentials but it said I already had an account and wouldn't let me create one at check out. I'm not sure how but I want to add this purchase under my best buy account so I can track the order history and hopefully get credit for the purchase. Is this possible? Or can I cancel the order and try again since I now can access my best buy account? please help. Thanks

Greetings, BlondeBoy81, and welcome to the Best Buy forum,

 

You are in luck!  We do have a tool on BestBuy.com that allows our members to report purchases not attached to their rewards account as "missing."  I have used the tool in the past to report some of my own purchases.  A purchase cannot be more than 180 days old, already attached to a rewards account, or had been processed prior to enrolling in the My Best Buy™ program to be reported.  I would suggest waiting for the order to be shipped prior to trying to report it as you may just encounter an error.

 

Once an eligible order has been reported, it may take up to 20 days for points to officially post.  I have provided a link below that should help walk through the reporting process.  If for some reason you have any trouble reporting the purchase as missing, then please feel free to send me a private message, by clicking on the blue button in my signature, and I will see what I can do to help.  I would just ask that you include the information listed below.
