Have my points been stolen?

 I looked at my account this morning and noticed that all my banked points were redeemed in march. 4500 points GONE. I know I didn't use them. How could Best Buy let this happen?

Welcome to the Best Buy forum, and thank you for connecting with us!

 

While 4,500 points may have been converted into a certificate back in March, it doesn't necessarily mean someone else figured out your password and redeemed it.  Maybe your Elite or Elite Plus status expired causing the points you had been banking to be converted into a certificate.  You would need to have spent $1,500 during the 2018 calendar year to requalify for Elite status or $3,500 to requalify for Elite Plus status.  If that is the case, then the $90 certificate would have been valid for a period of 60 days before expiring.

 

Now, if you do believe someone else somehow gained access to your rewards account, then I would strongly suggest that you reset your password if you have don't done so already.  I would be happy to take a closer look at your rewards account to determine just what may have happened.  Just send me a private message with the information listed below, by clicking on the blue button in my signature, and I will see what I can do to further assist.

I suspect that it was that I missed the 1500 mark for the first time in years. If my points were issued and I never received the email with the cert. Then I will be VERY upset as I have banked those for a specific reason.
This will seriously impact my future purchases at BB.

You would have lost the option to bank points if you did not requalify for Elite status, which means any points you had been banking would have been converted into a certificate down to the $5 level.  We do send out email notifications when new certificates are issued; however, factors outside of our control, such as spam filters, may prevent those emails from being viewed.  I will be replying to the private message you sent us shortly so we can discuss your rewards account in additional detail.  To read a private message, you would just want to click on the envelope icon at the top of the page.
