Expired Cert

If I have auto-issue turned off why are rewards being automatically being issued to my account? Because of this one expired recently that I was completely unaware of. This seems like a very underhanded tactic to avoid honoring rewards. Is there away to reissue the points to my account so that  I may redeem them when I chose to?

Re: Expired Cert

Hi there, xtremelowzfsc,

Welcome to the forum, and thank you for reaching out to us regarding your certificate expiring! Receiving a reward certificate is always exciting. I know when I get one, I almost immediately start planning my purchase. I know if I let one slip by me though, it can definitely feel like I've missed out. If you weren't expecting to even have a reward certificate available to redeem, I understand how confused and frustrated you would be.

Reward certificates may be issued regardless of certificate preference if they are promotional, or if they were issued prior to your selection to bank your points. Nonetheless, we do our best to ensure customers are aware certificates have been issued, as we send out email notifications that include the expiration date. Under our My Best Buy Terms, this expiration date is typically 60 days out, unless otherwise noted. We know emails may be overlooked or otherwise missed or blocked, so we always encourage our customers to manage their rewards from BestBuy.com. For more information, you can check out the post below.

As you mentioned you were banking your points, I would be delighted to take a closer look at things to see if I can provide an explanation for what happened in your case. Please keep an eye on your inbox in the top right corner of the page for my private message.

Sincerely,
