Coffeemaker purchase and return - issues - please help

I purchased a coffeemaker at the local Best Buy store and for the payment I used 2 of my Best Buy Reward certificates ($15 and $10). Because the coffeemaker is not upto my expectations and was acting strange, I had to return it. When I returned, I got all but the $15 reward certificate back, Can someone help me understand why I was not returned the $15 reward certificate?

I understand that you recently used some My Best Buy certificates towards your purchase of a coffeemaker, and unfortunately had to return the coffeemaker, but did not receive back all of your reward certificates. 

 

In this case, it sounds like one of the certificates that you had may have been a promotional certificate, which could explain why this certificate was not returned to you in this case. As outlined in the My Best Buy FAQ, whenever returning your purchase to us, the points associated with your reward certificate are returned to your account, after your return is processed.  Because there are not points associated with these promotional certificates, there are no points to credit back to your account.  Additionally, promotional certificates are intended to be a one-time use, and cannot be reissued.

 

I can certainly understand your disappointment with this experience, and I’d like to review your account further to make sure we’re exploring all options available.  For me to review your account, I’ll need to gather a few pieces of additional information from you.
