Best Buy not issuing correct refund amount- FRAUD!!

I placed an order for a blu Ray player for &69.99, used a $10 reward and the final amount I paid was $65.31 with tax.
Never received my order. Customer service said they’d issue a refund. Received confirmation of a refund for $55.31.
Called back and they said that’s the amount I paid from my debit card.
Debit card says I paid $65.31
Rep says they deducted the amount of the rewards from the total I paid. What the hell would possess you to charge me $10 for using a $10 reward?!!
No no they say- you never paid us $65, you only paid us $55, you obviously can’t understand how we apply the amounts.
4 reps, all look at the computer and say I am wrong.
Bank says no ma’am, you did not pay $55 and we have proof.
Called back and the “supervisor” laughed at me and said “we only credit you what we owe you- not what you paid, you didn’t deduct your rewards”
I am still beside myself.
I can add, subtract and read.
If the product was $69.99 - $10.00 rewards + $5.32 in tax I get a grand total of $65.31
I now have to file a fraud complaint - technically speaking Best Buy stoke $10 from my bank account!!
Beware of you’re using your rewards online!!!

Re: Best Buy not issuing correct refund amount- FRAUD!!

Hello, AngelaSal72,

Welcome to the forum, and thank you for reaching out to us regarding your refund amount. While I'm glad to hear we were able to assist with your lost order trouble, it sounds like this isn't where the troubles ended. Should my refund have been $10 short, I would be seeking answers as well.

We should be providing customers with a professional and courteous experience, and I apologize if that isn't what occurred when you reached out and spoke with several representatives. My Best Buy reward certificates are applied as pre-tax discounts, and should generally be refunded when a refund occurs, not charged. However, I'm wondering if there were more factors in play here, such as a bonus offer or promotional item that may have been deducted from your refund under our Return & Exchange Promise

I would like to take a closer look at things to get to the bottom of this, so I am sending you a private message. Please keep an eye on your inbox in the top right corner of the page for my message.

Sincerely,

Tasha|Social Media Specialist | Best Buy® Corporate
