I just bought this around summer/fall of last year and I am having an issue where the volume will turn all the way down intermittently. It happens every few songs and is very frustrating. It did not happen initially but started a few months after I purchased it. It's not an issue with my phone because it does not happen with any other bluetooth device I have. I've turned the device on mute as well because it would randomly start talking to me when unprompted.

 

Any advice? Is this a defective speaker?

This has been happening to me too. I have a speaker group with a paired pair of portables, two single portables, 2 single non-portables, 2 Google home minis, and a Google home hub. Occasionally the music stutters on one/some of the speakers. I have them all connected on 2.4ghz , with a main router and an access point with identical ssds over non overlapping channels. I wanted to keep all IOT DEVICES on 2.4 to keep 5ghz free for more demanding devices. But I guess I will try 5ghz.
