NS-CSPGASP models are being discontinued

I love my Insignia Voice speakers.  I have both the corded and cordless (built-in batter) models - mostly in bedrooms as uber alarm clocks, and one in the kitchen to deliver music/podcasts, news, cooking timers, and telling me cheesy Dad jokes.  Sure they require some care and feeding from time to time, but they generally do what I need them to.

Now that they are being discontinued, I worry that they will stop working all together within a year.  Does being discontinued mean that Insignia won't maintain a partnership with Google to keep them functioning?

Given what they cost, I had hoped to get many years of functionality out of these.

That sounds illegal. I am sure they will keep working.

Google Assistant speakers no longer respond

Best Buy has discontinued my Google Assistant speakers.  Now they are not responding to voice commands.  Is all support (including voice commands) discontinued?  Do I now own trash?

Re: Google Assistant speakers no longer respond

Mine still work.  If you're have stopped working, you should contact Insignia for support as suggested.  When in doubt a full reset (and reconfigure from scratch) can also resolve issues.  In my original post, I was looking for Insignia to commit to supporting development/support of the Google Assistant that runs on the Insignia Voice, and even advise how long that committment will be for.

Re: Google Assistant speakers no longer respond

Not to be a curmudgeon, but I have had numerous problems with the speakers (I have three) and the call-in help desk has not been very effective. (Most of the issues have been around pairing.)  My speakers have great sound, but now all of the only respond to voice commands intermittently and then when I mute and unmute.

Today I got a new speaker made by a company well-known for its quality, so we'll see what success I have moving forward.  I could have bought the speaker from Best Buy, but I didn't.  (I also could have bought my new refrigerator from Best Buy, but also did not.)

Although I have no proof, it looks to me like perhaps Best Buy lowered the price on their speakers so dirt cheap so they could clear them out and then discontinue them.  They for sure are not going to supply any software updates, I suspect. Why would they?  In fact, last time I called the help desk, I suggested they involve engineering for a fix and got no response on that suggestion.
