Re: NS-4v17r Bluetooth?

Hello maninatrunk,

You can find the Quick Start Guide here.  Insignia™ makes Bluetooth headphones that would be compatible with your player.  In fact, any Bluetooth headphones should be compatible as long as they use the same kind of jack as in the player as Bluetooth is a communications protocol and not a brand name.

I hope this helps.

John

Re: NS-4v17r Bluetooth?

are you sure? blue tooth uses no jacks it is wireless. Blue tooth gets matched up with the player and there are different forms of blue tooth frequency's . so if I go out and buy one that is not supported by the mp3's bluetooth frequency, it will not work. Also the quickstart guide shows absolutely nothing about which type of bluetooth headphones can be used only that you can use them.

Re: NS-4v17r Bluetooth?

Hello again maninatrunk,

You're right, of course.  I misspoke about needing a jack.  I apologize for the error.

Bluetooth employs 79 different frequencies and changes which frequency is used about 1600 times per minute.  Since Bluetooth is a communications protocol, any Bluetooth ready headphone device should work with your Bluetooth ready player.  You don't have to worry at all about needing a specific frequency since Bluetooth uses all 79 all the time.

I hope this helps.

Sincerely,
John

Re: NS-4v17r Bluetooth?

Oh, ok well I have one more question, the reason I was asking this is because I started seeing ,with a lot of blutooth headphones, that they are compatibe with such and such for instance something called a2dp? and other things. so why are some only compatible with certain things? are they older devices?

Re: NS-4v17r Bluetooth?

Hello again maninatrunk,

You ask really good questions!  According to my research, A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) is a separate but compatible technology that allows for the sharing of streaming from one device to another, say from your non-Bluetooth cell phone to your Bluetooth-enabled car radio.

I hope this helps.

John

Re: NS-4v17r Bluetooth?

Hello maninatrunk

The A2DP protocol is the Bluetooth protocol for streaming stereo audio.  All Bluetooth stereo headphones support the A2DP protocol.  Mono Bluetooth Headphones do not support A2DP.
