Insignia ns-cspgasp not connecting to or even seeing 5ghz networks?

I've had one of these Google Home bluetooth speakers for a couple of years now, never had any real problems with it.  


However, less than a week ago, the display stopped showing the time & temp, I power cycled it a number of times, did a reset by holding down the mic button until I got the setup prompts, etc., I finally figured out that the device no longer sees any 5ghz network - it's only seeing the 2.4ghz networks around me.  

 

It's almost like a firmware update got pushed out to these things that broke this, because it was working fine up until a few days ago.  

 

Has anyone heard of anything like this on these?
