Over the weekend, we rolled out new firmware with the help of our friends at Google. Has your speaker updated? Are you still having an issue?

When is our product expected to have a working continued conversation?
Both my Insignia Speakers show up under the Home app as Continued Convesation being enabled, but neither of my devices will open the mic back up after a request without saying hey google

Continued Conversation worked for about 2 weeks some time ago when it was first rolled out by Google. It worked flawlessly. It was then intentionally disabled by either Insignia or Google.
Bottom line is, the device is perfectly capable, but someone does not want you to have that feature.
