Insignia NS-H2002-U Audio issue

I setup the system yesterday and everything worked fine.  Had no issues.  This morning my wife turns on the TV and we're getting no sound from the speakers.  I turned off the system, checked each speaker wire, checked the connection from the cable box to the theatre system, and everything is fine. I checked the sound settings on the theatre system and it's still at surround 5 channel and bass 1 which is what I had it set at yesterday.

 

The television's built in speakers work fine, but the speakers for my new theatre system just send out static.  I did a forum search and I couldn't find a thread for my product.  Please help me so my wife will stop yalling at me that she didn't break the speakers.

It sounds like you've tried everything I would try to resolve the issue.  My recommendation would be, if you're within the return period for your purchase, to return to the store for an exchange.  If you're outside the return period, the store of purchase should still be able to assist with arranging for service.  I hope this helps.

Thanks John.  I actually got the system to work by moving it from on top of the cable box to next to it.  I'm guessing it was overheating or something, as once I moved it the sound worked fine except for an odd background hum.  However I got a new problem last night, the system shorted out with smoke and electrical flashes while the wife and I were watching TV.  Needless to say I unplugged the system immediately.

 

I'm looking for my receipt to return the system as I am well under the 30 days from purchase.
