Dual screen Insignia DVD player

I purchased a dual screen Insignia DVD player about a year and a half ago.  It has been working fine until recently the control TV has no visible image, but it still has sound.  The image is dark with dark shapes.  The other TV is playing with no prob.  Is there anything that can be fixed or anything I should troubleshoot?

Since the problem is with the control TV, we can rule out the connecting cable.

 

You might want to try connecting some other source to the control TV via the AV jack with the AV switch set to IN. That should tell us if there's any hope for the screen.

 

You can also try cranking the brightness all the way up and down to see if that has any effect.

 

My guess is that the back light has died.

If the back light has died; can it be fixed?  Can I buy a new light?

Beats me - you'll have to call support. But it might cost more to repair than buying a refurbished one. I see them for less than $100, e.g..
