Thanks for joining our forum community for some help on with your Insignia Blu-Ray player. Plex is a great application to catch up on all your favorites in one place. It’s disappointing to hear that you’re receiving a server error upon trying to download that new app on to your unit.
Can you please share what model number of your Blu-Ray Player is? I’d be happy to see how I can assist you further once I have that detail.

Thank you so much for sharing your model number with me. While reviewing this matter further you for at this time it doesn’t appear that we have any firmware updates available for model NS-WBRDVD2. This is why you’re receiving that error. Additionally, please note we do not offer the Plex application on any of our SMART Blu-Ray Players.
