the offical response can be found on the Price Match where it states:
At the time of sale, we price match all local retail competitors (including their online prices) and we price match products shipped from and sold by these major online retailers: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com, Dell.com, HP.com and TigerDirect.com.
Also why there is the distinction between our sales and our competitors like previously mentioned.
If we lower our in-store or online price during the return and exchange period, we will match our lower price, upon request.
Realizing they're very similar, they're still very different within our systems which is why the policy makes the distinction.

I am a long time customer of Best Buy. Best Buy was my favorite store. I spent thousand's over the years. I got all my major appliances from there and entertainment and electronics. After my recent experiences with Best Buy I am very disappointed.
I purchased some items online Nov 28th . Then the order was cancelled by Best Buy. I called customer service for a reason why. Customer service wasn't sure why it happened. But they told me I could just reorder it the same items and best buy would honor the original purchase price. I asked if this was possible because I would only purchase the items at the sales price. She said it wouldn't be a problem. This took about 40 minutes.
To make things more difficult Best Buy sent 1 item as store pick up for some reason without me knowing it. The online order auto picked a pick up location at a store that is 40 minutes from my home for some reason. I had to re-route it to a Best Buy store 20 minutes away. That's a 40 minute round trip. I then received all my items.
The previous customer service rep instructed me to call customer service again to complete the honoring of the sales price, When I did after being on hold for 60 minutes, I was explained that the first customer service person did not make any mention of the previous honor agreement in the notes. they could in no way honor the previous agreement. So that 69 minutes that I just spent on the phone was a complete waste of time. Everything was a complete waste of time.
1.Re ordering the items 10 minutes
2. Picking up the items and returning them back to the store. 100 minutes
3. Talking with customer service the second time. 69 minutes.
4. Time looking for a way to formally send this in an email. 60 minutes

Unfortunately Best Buy customer service is the only retailer I have ever seen that doesn't have anyone with authority that can make a common sense decision that serves the customer.
In my case, the agent transfer the chat to one of their managers who provided the worst solution ever possible, the manager told me to purchase anoth Macbook for the lower price and return the one I already purchased a few days back with $100.00 higher price. I already opened and using the MacBook , now I have to buy another one , pack this one, go to a store , return the device that is an open box and can be sold as refurbished with at least $300 lower than it's normal price while they could just refund $100 difference that make more sense and cost BestBuy much less than their manager's recomendation.
This is really unacceptable and rediculas and make customers unhappy.

Thanks for posting with us on here! With all these great deals coming up, that’s a great question. As mentioned in our Price Match Guarantee, items for sale the Sunday before Thanksgiving Day through the Monday after Thanksgiving, whether offered by Best Buy or a competitor, are not eligible for price matching.
With this being said, we would not be able to offer a price match for the Black Friday pricing on an item that was purchased prior to Black Friday.
