A couple of years ago, I bought an OTR microwave. The staff member who helped me with the purchase was very knowledgeable and it was a pleasure to interact with her. I bought the installation service and extended warranty as well.
The installation seemed acceptable at the time, though the technician didn't have the right tape with him (I fortunately had aluminum tape on hand), nor did he have a means to clean up, which I also provided. I was happy enough at the time to finally have a working microwave that I did not consider raising my concerns to Best Buy.
The vent hose recently came loose from the appliance, and it revealed that the connections were edge-to-edge and only held in place by the adhesive on the tape. I want to express my deep disappointment in this work's quality, and that if I had known that this is what a professional installation service consisted of, I would have saved the money and used my own tape myself, and I would have made less of a mess. As it is, I need to go source the appropriate parts to repair this problem in a way that will last longer.
I don't know whether the extended warranty covers installation issues, but if it does, I would like Best Buy to make this right.
