Segwick Claim Headache

Long story short...

 

- Ordered a Bosch dishwasher from Best Buy. They came and installed it.

- Dishwasher leaked. Caused damage to my basement ceiling. Cost me $550 to repair the damage to the leak. 

- Installer came out and determined the leak was caused by faulty dishwasher unit.

- Was told to file a claim with Sedgwick in order to receive reimbursement for the damages. I did. (Claim #{removed per forum guidelines}

- Claims agent sent me the following email:

Subject: RE: FW: {removed per forum guidelines} - {removed per forum guidelines}, KEVIN  - 09/18/2018 **Evidence Tag

 

Yes I have a total claim of $550.00.   If Bosch does not call you by Thursday, please let me know and I will issue a settlement payment to you for the $550.00

 

 

I did not receive any correspondence from Bosch. I then received this email:

The date was 10/11/2018. It has now been 18 days since this email and I have not received word from Ms. {removed per forum guidelines}. In addition, I have called almost every day, left multiple voicemails, and sent many emails asking for a follow up. There has been no check sent to me. 

 

Today, I contacted GEEK SQUAD in regards to the matter (Case #{removed per forum guidelines}. GEEK SQUAD transferred me to Sedgwick and were able to get an actual human on the line. I told them of my situation and they were magically able to get Ms. {removed per forum guidelines}on the line after probably speaking with her supervisor. Ms. {removed per forum guidelines}advised me that she would send the check tomorrow (via expedited mail) and that it should get to me by Wednesday. I asked for a confirmation number indicating that we spoke, however, she would not give one to me over the phone and advised me that she would send me an email with confirmation. 

 

Here is to hoping that I actually get payment. I'll keep you all updated on this post as everything unfolds.

Hey kevinjoshualim,

 

Given how long you have been waiting for this claim with Sedgwick to be settled I can certainly understand your frustration here. I have emailed Sedgwick asking them for the current status of your claim. Once I hear back from Sedgwick on this I will post back to this thread.

Have you heard anything? I finally got ahold of Ms. Stevens who emailed me a release form to sign so they could send me payment. I signed the form and emailed it back to her yesterday. I emailed her again today and called her direct line all day and did not receive a response. It seems that everytime I complete a required task on my end my claims agent does her best to avoid and ignore me. I tried to get into contact with her via a GEEKSQUAD rep but was unsuccessful this time. Please help...

I did hear back from them, but nothing conclusive. It seems like you have more up to date information than I do on this. I would give it until Tuesday 11/6/2018 to hear back from them, and if you haven't heard back by then let me know.
