I've often thought that after the rigorous process of selecting a new appliance from the considerably huge number of options available these days that the delivery should be almost a formality. It was with unhappiness that I read of the complications you encountered and the unwillingness of the delivery team to provide the anticipated service. I apologize for our having disappointed you.
Apart from not unboxing your new dishwasher, were the other aspects (if any) of your delivery carried out?
