Today my new Maytag washer was delivered. The Best Buy guys said they could not install the washer because they said they could not get the old hose off and it was corroded and I needed a plumber to change the pipe. They left. I called a plumber and he couldn't believe that - he took the hose off with not even a bit of an issue and said the corrosion was on the hose not the pipe. He connected the washer and it's working. HOWEVER the plumber cost me $120!! So the Best Buy free installation cost me!!! Just because the delivery guys were lazy.
I expect to be compensated for the plumber cost.
Secondly, I don't think the washer is balanced. When it washes and when it spins it shakes like crazy. Worrisome.
How do I get this entire situation corrected?

Welcome to the forum, and thank you for your patience as you awaited our reply while we experience higher than normal volume. I know how convenient it is to have a working washer and dryer in your home, so to have us leave the unit uninstalled would be less than ideal. Corrosion can be an issue that catches people by surprise, but it seems the corrosion may have been misidentified as on the pipe rather than the hose, leading to a costly and ultimately unnecessary visit from the plumber.
