Appliance Delivery Extortion - Boston

1. Went to Best Buy Online on 8/18/19

2. Purchased a GE Gas Range Modle JGS760SELSS SKU 5979203 with Gas Range Install: 1,545.95

3. Per receipt, Order #{removed per forum guidelines}

4. Delivery scheduled for Wed, 8/26/19.

5. On 8/23/19 @ 1 PM, a van arrived at my house.

6. Two men came to the door with tool kits. both very unhappy people

7. They used a tape measure and said the oven was within regulation, even though it was the same measure as my old oven 

8. They had me a list of ovens that will work for my kitchen all of which are LG (only) and $1,000 more than the GE

9. The men left, having never removed the oven from their van (if it was even there).

10. Later on 8/23/19, 8/24/19,8/25/19, I called best buy and demanded a refund. They refused.

11. I was told the unit was "not checked back in" by the delivery company.  

12. Two Weeks later 9/7/19, best buy still refuses to help me.  Every time I call, I get pushed to another department or call wait times in excess of 2 plus hours.  With no one calling me back from the call back request.   


The last I was able actually to speak with a person was on 8/25/19 with Jamie case #{removed per forum guidelines}


So here we are. Best Buy refuses to refund my 1,545.95

This is an egregious example of retail deception, extortion and theft. This is fraud. You charged my credit card, did no give me the oven i purchased, did not install the oven i purchased and refuse to give me my money back.

As trust has been destroyed and you employ extortionist subcontractors,

I decline to complete this transaction and demand a full refund. Immediately.


I'm curious if this business plan is approved by Corporate?
