Re: 2005 chevy silverado stereo

very vague in the question when you are talking about sound.  What source are you listening to when you are hearing this static am, fm, cd, aux?  have you ever replaced your speakers? is your car using the factory installed radio also?

i definately think we can pinpoint whether it is the deck or speakers that is causing the problems with your silverado, i just need a little more to help guide me in the right direction.  Thanks for the post and welcome to the community!

Re: 2005 chevy silverado stereo

hmmm... well is it possible that you are hearing more of a popping noise instead of bad reception static? does this happen only when the bass hits on your music? i would be leaning more towards the speakers if it didn't matter what source it would be on to make the static sound.

Re: 2005 chevy silverado stereo

Hello LTD,

Thank you for posting.  I'd be inclined to agree with autotech796 that it sounds as if it would be an issue with the speakers, as it remains constant even when you change sources between am/fm.

Cheers,
