Hi, because I use my insignia only for US trips, allowed my 14Year son to "play" a littel bit with it. He found the CE level. And finaly the password menue. After activating it, he realized that their is no keyboard on the navi, to put in the password :-).
I allready booked it under "trainig -cost". But he is going on to fight with the NS-NAV01. Now it starts with the insignia screen for about 30 seconds. blue line at the bottom on one position. And switching of without any reaction after this time. With and without SD-card. Switch on only via the reset button. The additional internal button just changed the color of the LED to green. ... And now he is coming back to me, because my english is better. Any trick I can forward to him. Or a helpfull webpage which will train his technical nav01 specific english?

I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with your NS-NAV01 and I would be glad to provide you with some assistance. However I would like to clarify the issue first. The way I understand your issue is that when the GPS is turned on it will start loading and then just get stuck on the loading screen? If this is not the case could you provide me with a little more information?

thanks for your feedback. To be honest, I would say, it is an issue with my son ;-). Such devices are not designed to meet a technical intersted 14year old boy.
Current status: After pressing the reset button, it starts with the insignia screen. USB is activated. But no reaction on the screen. And after about 50 seconds it switchs off (including the USB). It only could be started via the reset button.
What has he done: 1. he found an way to get access to WinCE. 2. He realized that a lot of thinks are possible with WINCE. And he show me, that it was still possible to start the navi software. 3. He found a menue, to put a password on WinCE. 4. He realized afterwards, that he has no keyboard to put in the password
5. He found in the internet the the suggestion to delete in the registry in HKey_local_Machine the init file, to eliminate the password.
But this looks like, that it was not the best suggestion.
So, not realy in the responsibility of insignia, more a genetic issue. But if you know a link or if their is a simple trick, would be perfect.

I apologize for the extremely late reply. Unfortunately, because the End User License Agreement forbids altering the software, we cannot provide a means to restore the files to their original state. I'm sorry that I don't have a better answer for you.
