Well, same problems on my end with the same unit. Same experience with Geek Squad here in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Have had the unit less than a year. No messages for updates being available. The Geek Squad wants to charge me $30 for updates, yet admit don't know how.
So, I would appreciate receiving the same private message others have received with a link for map updates as soon as possible.
A travel in the Chicago and Detroit area has proven to be very disappointing using this unit--it continually kept getting lost. How about that!! a GPS getting lost.
Please respond ASAP.

I did receive the update and had no problem loading it.
Thank you very much John.
My Google Search capability is no longer working, but at least now when I search the backup directory I actually get points of interest to choose from. Google Search was awesome when it worked and could rival my Garmin Nuvi 760 if it worked consistently or even now.
I have no idea if my default annual wireless subscription simply ran out because the unit does not give any feedback or reminders. In fact, it never gave feedback that there were map updates available. My Garmin prompts me each time I turn it on
Best Buy really needs to take a look at these postings and figure that many others are not be taking time to post; in fact, I stumbled upon this site. Best Buy risks losing repeat customers for its Insignia brand. Thanks to John, I've not tossed my 3 units in the trash.
John - Recommend you tell Best Buy Executives that Customer Support for GPS' needs improvement. If you send me a private message with your CEO's email address, I'll gladly relay my sentiments.

I have the CNV10 and would also appreciate a link to the updated maps. Mine are from 2008 as well.
Will the map updates for model CNV10?
Thanks in advance. Like everyone else, I visited my Best Buy Geek Squad and they were not able to perform the map updates and told me to visit the Insignia website. There are no map updates to download from the Insignia website.

However, I went to Best Buy (Geek Squad) and asked to have the maps updated. For the 2nd time in 8 months, they could not get the map updates to either download or install. So, in a rare move from Best Buy, they swapped out my Insignia brand GPS for anything I wanted and I picked up a Garmin Nuvi.
So no need for the map updates. But thank you for responding. I appreciate it.
