Hello, I have been trying literally for hours to purchase a phone on bestbuy.com but it seems just impossible. i'd like to take advantage of the discount on the phone by upgrading my verizon phone and acitvating it now through the website, but each time i try to sign in to my verizon account on bestbuy.com it says my account is locked. i've reset the password at least a dozen times today and contacted verizon but still no luck. my account is not actually locked, verizon said this is a known issue between best buy and verizon's websites. there really should be an alternate way to enter your carrier information when the website is not working correctly. i tried calling best buy support but was directed to a recorded message that said activating service can't be done over the phone, and to go to bestbuy.com
also, i've already tried this in 3 different browsers both on pc and mobile, and even downloaded the best buy app, but the issue happens everywhere. the phone i'm interested in is not in stock nearby and i'd really just like to be able to complete my order.

Welcome to the Best Buy Community forums. Thanks for getting in touch with us about the issue with your Verizon account. Buying a new phone should be fun and exciting, and I’m sure this experience put a damper on that.
If the web site isn’t working to buy that phone, and if the sale can’t be done over the phone, you’d need to come in to one of our stores to make that purchase in person. If the phone isn’t in stock locally, we should be able to place an order for you.

I second this issue. Something is broken on the site and it needs to be reported to the system admins/developers. I, too, have reset my password a dozen times and repeatedly get locked out.

Perhaps it wants the four digit PIN instead of the account password? I've read that in other forum posts. This should be explicitly stated if that's the case.

Some things that you'll want to be sure of before trying to log are that you don't have any balance due on your account, and that you are the account holder or an authorized user. Please also see if you can log in through our upgrade checker.
If none of that works, preaching out to you local Best Buy store will be your next step.

Same here. I try to log in through Verizon's SSOAUTH window that pops up & it tells me my account has been locked, when it works just fine elsewhere.

Hey all; I was able to finally log in by entering the main mobile number instead of the account user name when logging in. Although it says using either is fine, it's really not. There were a few more hurdles to jump through later (e.g., terms and conditions agreement button wasn't clickable), but hopefully those were one time crazy glitches. Hope this helps.
