Re: What happened to weekly ad???

I want the ad back to.  It was the best way to find new deals for the week.  Best Buy's website just isn't organized to show you the new deals.  It's a mess!

Re: Bestbuy.com weekly ad not displaying last 2 weeks

The Weekly Ad was something that actually grabbed my attention. It showed me that hey this item is on sale and wasn't on sale a week ago. The current top deals format doesn't do so and it doesn't grab my attention. It still has the same format/deal as last week with nothing changed. This is kind makes it like Wal-Mart where they go low prices all the time or we'll price match it, hence why I don't shop at Wal-Mart for electronics because nothing is ever truly on sale there.

Re: What happened to weekly ad???

I have had elite plus status for the last 4 years.  Mostly because I would look at the weekly ad and plot out what I would be purchasing.  The way they have things setup now is just confusing.  I'm not going to hunt and search for deals on the website.

Bestbuy, bring back the weekly ads if you want to continue to lure consistent buyers like myself.  Not threatning but it is much easier to get what I want at Amazon.  Unfortunately Bestbuy will become my showroom to get a peak at the televisions discs I frequently buy.

New Oled will be purchased by the end of the year!!!

Re: What happened to weekly ad???

I have been a Best Buy shopper since before I could drive and have been an Elite or Elite Plus member for as long as the program has existed. I was even an employee at one point in time. I'm very sad to see the weekly ad disappear, especially with no explanation from the company.

It has been part of my Sunday routine to look through the ad to get an idea of what movies and games are coming out, eventually purchase some of those that are on sale, and see if there's anything else worth buying on sale that week. The Deals tab isn't the same experience and doesn't offer the week long guarantee on the prices that the ad used to.

Given the posts that I saw from earlier this year about prices mysteriously changing during the ad period and other bait and switch stories, I have a feeling that this is exactly why the ad went away. It would seem that Best Buy is freeing itself up to change its prices on the fly in an effort to be more like Amazon. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you will never be Amazon. You'll never compete with Amazon on their own turf. They won't just win; they'll crush you.

If I want to buy from a company that operates on that type of model, I'll stick with Amazon. They always get me my stuff faster, anyway. The ad was a convenient way for me to peruse a curated list of items on sale with the comfort of knowing that I had a week to decide what I wanted to buy. Without that, I now have no reason to check Best Buy's site on Sundays. I should probably thank you for saving me what will undoubtedly be a significant amount of money going forward.

Re: What happened to weekly ad???

Like everybody else here, I too am very disappointed the weekly ad has gone. It was an enjoyable part of Sunday morning to check what deals were available and also see the new releases in music and movies.

I have been a Premier Elite customer for a long time and spend a lot of money in the store and online. I don't have the time to spend looking through pages of Top Deals as opposed to checking the weekly ad. Also I do tend to buy totally unnecessary items just because I have seen them in the ad - something which will not happen any more.

If they really decided to stop producing a weekly ad., at least it would be nice if they had the consideration to tell us!

Re: What happened to weekly ad???

How about at least a courtesy link where "weekly ad" used to be with an honest explaination?  Why are loyal customers ALWAYS treated the worst??  (rant warning):   The NFL, NIKE, Federal Government, Microsoft, Microsoft, Microsoft, Spectrum, Sonos...   Who are these companies working for?  NOT the customer.  Don't get me wrong, I feel in general Best Buy is a fantastic company and without peer in the brick and morter electonics industry (online is best of breed as well).  Why did noone responsible for this great company have an eye on the "webmasters" who dropped probably the most used online link on their splash page?

Re: What happened to weekly ad???

Agreeing with this to the max. I only shop here through weekly ads that i would check on Sunday. The bee "deals" system sucks. Bring back weekly ads. Hopefully your sales show a difference since you changed the format.

Re: What happened to weekly ad???

I was wondering the same thing.  My sunday mornings included coffee and BB weekly ad.  I was looking for an email I could ask them what genius decided to take it down but all I could find was this forum.

Has anyone from best buy responded yet?

The one positive I can take from it is that I've been visiting and spending less at best buy since now I don't have an organized ad to tell me the top deals.

Re: What happened to weekly ad???

Hello all,

Don’t worry, we’re still as committed as ever to bringing great deals on the best tech to all of our customers!

In fact, we want to give you even more chances to find a great deal – which is why, instead of announcing a new set of deals once a week, we now have a separate page on BestBuy.com where new deals will be posted.

To check them out, click on the “Deals” tab on BestBuy.com, and go to the “Top Deals” section. And keep checking back as they are updated frequently.

Regards,
