Re: What happened to weekly ad???

The price matching web page appears to be straight forward in what is and isn't included. It would appear from the feedback of others, that, some of these Best Buy employees have not been educated in the correct company price matching policy. I suppose escalating one's request to the store or assistant store manager would resolve the issue but that does not sound customer friendly. I do remember during the last price match, I went to the customer service desk and asked if they would honor the price for an online competitor. They said yes. I went to electronics department and selected the item and asked them to price match it.  The assistant manager had to come over to the electronics department because the employees on the floor were not sure if they could.

Re: What happened to weekly ad???

I read the ad every Sunday morning and either ran to the store that day for small purchases or over time plotted my next big purchase.  Without an ad you are leading us to search the entire internet which will lead to purchases elsewhere.

Re: What happened to weekly ad???

Hi Bill,

Please take this back to corporate as feedback... WE DON'T LIKE THE DEALS PAGE!!!

My problem with the deals page is I can't "flip" through it, I have to click each individual section.

Whats an even bigger issue for me is that I buy movies every week. I normally pre-order my movies the day I see them listed as available for preorder in the weekly ad. Occasionally I will wait until the week of for some movies I'm unsure of.

The Deals Page does not show what movies are coming out on Tuesday, it focuses on the movies from the PREVIOUS week which I ALREADY HAVE!

Between this and the hassle I was given this past week in store over my Rewards account (I was carded just to apply my Rewards account to my purchase - insane) I'm ready to let me card close and move on from Best Buy.

So disappointed. I've been an Elite Plus memeber for years but this is going the way of Circuit City and I refuse to be burned again. I'm going to get off the ship before it sinks.

Re: What happened to weekly ad???

Bill-BBY,

I am extremely disappointed in your responses.

Your initial response implies that you failed to read nearly every post in this thread and chose instead to jump to posting a canned response that pushes the company's agenda instead of listening to those that keep your company in business. This shows a clear disrespect to the customers that have taken the time to share their thoughts with you and your company on this issue. If I didn't feel that it was a big problem, I wouldn't have bothered creating an account to join this discussion and taking the time to write these posts. Free time isn't something that I have in abundance and I'm sure that many of the others here feel the same.

As others have pointed out, we know all about the "Deals" page that you are trying to convince us is in our best interest. Several of us have explained why it's not a sufficient substitute for a dedicated ad.  Here are my highlights:

- There's too much to sift through to make it an enjoyable experience for someone who just wants to get an overview of the top deals being offered for the week.

- I don't want to come back "frequently" to see what's changed and I don't want to be pressured to buy something immediately upon seeing it because I don't know when the sale price on it is going to end. Sometimes, I need to think about a purchase before making it. With the weekly ad, I knew that I could look at it on Sunday and have until the end of that week to make up my mind about it. There was always the risk of the item being sold out, but that happened so infrequently that it wasn't really a concern, and if it did happen, I only had myself to blame.

I don't believe anyone is saying to get rid of the "Deals" page altogether, but we are saying that it doesn't take the place of a dedicated ad and you need to bring it back. Personally, I don't care about the physical ad and would be content with the digital version.

Even worse than the negligence shown in your initial response, your response about the price match policy showed that you ARE reading the posts and actively choosing to ignore the actual issue being discussed. Instead, you focus on a side issue. While I don't have a problem with you trying to correct a possible misunderstanding of policy, I have a major problem with you not addressing the issue this thread was created to discuss.

It's no wonder that at the time of this post you have 7,725 posts and only 209 kudos, as you don't appear to be interested in helping customers at all. If this is how Best Buy wants to treat customers, then maybe I need to find somewhere else to spend my money. In all fairness, the writing has been on the wall for some time. I knew when you cancelled the gamer's club unlocked program that things were headed downhill. I was hoping that I was wrong, but with all the policy changes over the last couple of years and the lack of empathy being shown in these forums by Best Buy's representatives, I don't believe that's the case.

Re: What happened to weekly ad???

I became a Best Buy shopper for one reason, gamers club. When that went away I still bought games there because I could get the circular two weeks out of a game release and find that there was a trade in bonus for an old game towards a new release plus usually additional promos. On top of that I would buy new release movies the week of release from Best Buy because I had accumulated points to use or I would accumulate points towards another purchase. Now I don’t feel the additional fifteen miles round trip of travel is worth it when I have a Target closer to me.

Please bring back the circular or find a way to give notice of game releases and promotions. Stopping by the store is a foolish way of getting this information across in 2019.

This info is easily found on BestBuy.com or in the app.  Deals > Deals by Category > Video Games & VR.  It takes you right to the Top Deals for video games, including places to preorder new upcoming titles and listing out all featured deals.  Great news is this will also list things that start midweek, so you won't miss out on the sales that would have otherwise been missing in a print ad.  Also,  you can quickly skip to your favorite console using the links at the top of the gaming deals should you have only one console you're interested in.  Hope this helps.

You don't get it.  By doing what you are asking Best Buy is funneling its customers to a specific product caregory; which is a narrow perspective and ultimatlely not in Best Buy's best interest.

The weekly ad provided your most loyal customers an esay way to see EVERYTHING on "sale" or releasing that week easily.  While we might have initially visited for a particular type of product we would be MORE LIKELY to purchase items outside of the product category.  Shopping for a video game might have resulted in a couple of movies, a USB drive, headphones, or even a tablet upgrade we were thinking about for the future and that the weekly ad EASILY had us see.

So, yes we can find those things by digging through the weekly deal one at a time but the problem is most of us won't and if we do we won't bother with certain categories EVER. So we will be more likely to not shop here as much in the future because it is more inconvienent and less user friendly than other options.

Re: What happened to weekly ad???

Kind of humorous.

We say it's not easy and is confusing

They reply your wrong, it's simple and easy.

When your customers tell you they cant understand something and you keep telling them they are wrong... guess who's actually wrong?

Here's a hint... I've shopped circular for years, I either buy from circular or I buy what I already know I want.  I've occasionally searched your deals categories and cant remember a sing instance where ive found some I didnt see in the circular and thought Oh wow I really need that or that's a great deal, wonder why it wasnt in the circular.

Just clicking Top Deals will allow you to see all categories throughout the store.  I was specifically answering the question on how to see Gaming Deals and was pointing out that you do not need to visit a store to get this information.

"The weekly ad provided your most loyal customers an esay way to see EVERYTHING on "sale" or releasing that week easily.  While we might have initially visited for a particular type of product we would be MORE LIKELY to purchase items outside of the product category.  Shopping for a video game might have resulted in a couple of movies, a USB drive, headphones, or even a tablet upgrade we were thinking about for the future and that the weekly ad EASILY had us see."

You can still see all of that in the Top Deals section.  The only difference is it's not in print form or a PDF that is firmly locked to the Sunday-Saturday window.  I'll disagree with the statement that you see EVERYTHING that is on sale in our ad, the ad hasn't met that criteria in years.  So many vendor promotions start/stop at random points during the week, and are therefore never printed in the ads.  Prior to jumping over to the Magnolia side of the business, I was in charge of the team responsible for changing out pricing on the daily, not just on Sundays.  If you only experienced the ad, you have missed a lot of great stuff.  This new layout is intended to do what you mentioned before, which is to allow you to see EVERYTHING on "sale" or that is releasing that week.

With that said, if there are opportunities with how we can improve the formatting on the site to aid in your searches by all means share your ideas over on the IdeaX forum.

Re: What happened to weekly ad???

You employees just don't get it. You are like a bunch of lemmings following corporate without a clue of where you are going...sigh. You can't seem to understand what people are saying. I t  i s m o r e  c o n v e n i e n t  t o  s e e  f u l l  p a g e  a d d s  a t  a  g l a n c e  t h a n  c l i c k i n g  s e v e r a l  l i n k s  t o  s e e  l i m i t e d  c o n t e n t. I hope I typed these words slow enough for you to understand the concept that we are trying to get accross... Of course, now that I think of it, the adds from the last few weeks where almost identical with the standard items on sale with their everyday 'sale prices' and quite a few items not on sale (page fillers?)
