I ordered a higher end laptop from BestBuy.com on Jan 1st, with a "Get it By" date of Jan 8.
This morning I recieved an email saying my laptop will be "Delayed" and it gave me an estimated date of Feb 7th!!
I called the online support and asked what is going on, they said that the device was being purchased by a 3rd party, from the manufactured and that it has been delayed! I was under the impression i was buy this device from BEST BUY, not a 3rd party distributor. No where on their website does it say this will be delayed or the product is unavailable or out of stock. GET IT BY JAN 8TH. Thats what it said.
The rep then proceeds to tell me that I CANNOT CANCEL MY ORDER because Best Buy has ALREADY PAID THE DISTRIBUTOR!!!!! AND I they cannot honor price matching on another device. Insane.
So now, I have to WAIT until the device is shipped to even be able to ANYTHING with my order. Placing me in Online Order Purgatory until the 3rd party disti gets the device in.
THIS IS AN OUTRAGE! This was a time sensative purchase for a new employee of our startup. I cannot believe this Best Buy. Way to start 2020. This is the last time I will order anything from BestBuy.com.

Welcome to the forum, and thank you for choosing to shop with us for a new computer! I know how exciting this is, having just purchased a new computer myself a couple months ago. I'm sure you were eager to receive this laptop, and receiving a delay notice was the last thing you anticipated. I know this would dampen my spirits as well, and have me seeking a resolution.
It sounds like your laptop order may be being fulfilled by a vendor, which would limit our ability to modify the order after it's been placed. We do our best to estimate when orders will be fulfilled, and typically, even ones fulfilled by a vendor arrive on time. I'm sorry to hear this may not be the case for yours. With that said, orders are still typically fulfilled within a week or so of these delay notices, so I have high hopes that this will still fulfill in a timely manner.

The crazy thing about this is that I can go on Amazon, right now, find the exact same model of laptop and spec, and get it shipped to me by tomorrow. And I KNOW Amazon will actually deliver it.
It's day 2 of Order Delayed, I will keep this forum updated every day I dont recieve the device and keep bumping this to the top.
Best Buy, you are on notice. Get this fixed.

I need an update on my order. Since you have already charged my Best Buy card, I cannot even purchase another laptop because my credit limit has been reached. I either need to get this order cancelled and get my credit back or I need this laptop shipped asap.
Please help me here.

Jan 12, still no update on my order.
Still frustrated with no updates. BB should be handing out gift cards to customers that this happens to. Or at least give them a discount on the purchase for the delay. Seriously. When they hold you credit for a MONTH, that is insane.

Thanks for checking back in! I can understand why you would want updates on this as soon as possible, so we'll try to get an answer from the vendor so we can provide you with some answers on what is going on.
