Billing with order number {removed per forum guidelines}

[ Edited ]

Hello,

I had a question about order #{removed per forum guidelines}. My email address is {removed per forum guidelines}

I was told in the original order confirmed email that:

When Your Order Ships
• We'll send a separate e-mail with tracking details
• Pre-ordered items will be available on or after the release date
• Your credit or debit card will be charged when the item is ready for pickup or shipped

I was just charged for it today. It is a pre-order item with as yet no release date. I've paid the charge, so can you make sure that I will not be charged again when the item is shipped?

The answer kind of depends on when the release date for the item is. The charge you saw today is just the initial hold - that will fall off in a few days. You will be actually charged for the item when it ships. If the release date is soon (like in the next week) it'll just transfer over to a charge, otherwise as stated the charge will disappear and you'll be recharged for the item when it ships.

I am not a forum moderator nor voice of corporate. One of the corporate moderators will be with you as soon as they can for the official response from Best Buy. The forums work on a first come, first serve basis and it can take a while for a response.

Hi, SKJL,

Welcome to the Support Forums! Also, thank you @geishafish for stepping in with the information about the Authorization Hold that is placed on the order.

Just so that you're aware, an authorization hold will be placed on your credit or debit card when you place an order. Your account will not actually be billed until your order is shipped or picked up at the store. If there’s a problem authorizing your credit or debit card, we’ll email you right away. Keep an eye on your spam folder, in case our emails end up there. If you don’t take action to fix the problem within 24 hours, we’ll cancel the order.

I hope this helps explain the charge(s) that you may be seeing!

Best,

Re: Billing with order number {removed per forum guidelines}

SKJL,

You should be good to go as the charge that you paid should be converted into the physical charge when it comes through after being shipped. I'd keep an eye on your statement when it becomes available just to make sure, but these types of things shouldn't mess with your card balance since you are only ultimately charged once for the price you paid.

I hope this helps!
