Best Buy Gift Card + Visa Gift Card Order Issue

Made an order ({removed per forum guidelines}) originally trying to use a $50 dollar best buy gift card and a Visa Gift card.  I thought it would let me apply the $50 VIsa card and then add another card to finish off the order. This did not happen and my order was rejected because the two $50 cards were not enough. After realizing this I canceled my order completely.

 

The issue is:

 

My gift card has been drained and my $50 dollar Visa gift card seems to have a lock on it. I cannot spend it elsewhere for some reason but it still shows as having $50 on it.

 

Please advise.

Welcome to the Best Buy Support Online Forum community! I’m sorry to hear that your order was cancelled. I’d be happy to see how I can assist you with the issues present with your gift cards.

 

I was able to locate your cancelled order using the details you shared upon joining our forum community. It does appear your purchase was cancelled as there wasn’t enough funds available on your Visa Pre-Paid Gift Card. Please note BestBuy.com can only accept one credit card co-branded payment per order.

 

According to our Cancel Your Order Help Guide your Best Buy gift card should’ve been refunded with 30 minutes of the cancellation. I’m that didn’t happen. I’ve reached out to our support teams to see if they can resolve the issue.

 

The hold you may be experiencing on your Visa Pre-Paid Gift Card most likely is an authorization. Our Cancel Your Order Help Guide does state it can take up to 6 days for your financial institution to remove that hold. I highly recommend giving the phone number on the back of the gift card a jingle to see if they can remove it sooner.

 

Once I have an update on your Best Buy gift card I’d be happy to share that with you privately. I appreciate your patience on this matter in the meantime.
