Best Buy Bundles

You advertise a bundle on bestbuy.com site. I wanted to purchase a Whirpool Range and Recirculating hood the bundle price given to me was acceptable and I was ready to make the purchase. However, after placing the items in my cart the price went up and the bundle price was no longer correct. Your bestbuy.com site ads are thus misleading and frustrating. I called customer service and they could not give me a reasonable expectation all that he said was the bundle price was not correct. This is very frustraing. So, I will give Best Buy one chance to make this right or I will close my account and buy from another company.

Re: Best Buy Bundles

Hi, HokieNation,

Again, welcome to our community! Splurging on a new range and hood is certainly an investment. Thank you for thinking of Best Buy for this purchase. I understand price may be a deciding factor in your purchasing choice and how the price displayed in cart is important.

We’d like to see what light we can shed on this matter. Can you please share where you noticed the bundle? Also, which item was it? We’d appreciate a link to see if there was another condition of the bundle that needed to be added to the cart, too.

Respectfully,

Re: Best Buy Bundles

Mariah, I was looking on the bestbuy.com site at the Whirlpool model WFE51050HW, SKU-6307291. and the 30" inch white recirculating hood. There were four items in the original bundle. The range the hood and two microwave ovens. Each item in the bundle had a box with a check mark in the box. If you tapped the box the check mark dissapeared. I tapped the boxes beside of the two microwaves. That left the range and the hood. The original price of the range was $629.99 and the hood was $64.99. The price listed as a bundle for the range was $558.67 and the price of the hood was $57.63 for a total bundle price of $616.30. This figure was given at the bottom of the column in the website. I did not just make this figure up in my head. I then placed the range, the hood and the $29.99 power cord and installation deal into my cart. When I checked my cart the price had jumped from the bundle deal of $644.29 to $722.97. An increase of $78.68. This to me is another case of bait and switch. The website of bestbuy.com either needs to honor the bundle deal or change the website so there is no confusion about the offer. This type of marketing is unfair to the consumer. Either honor the bundle deal or change the website. If there are bundle or sale deals offered by salesmen in best buy stores then they should be available to customers who buy online. HokieNation is very unhappy with Best Buy and their poor response to my complaint. I talked to two different people at customer support. One had a really bad attitude about my complaint
His attitude was if you don't like it shop somewhere else. The second person I talked to understood what I was talking about and agreed with me. Even though he could do nothing about the bundle deal, he agreed that it was misleading. I will now shop around to find the best deal. If Best Buy doesn't want my money I will go elsewhere to buy my appliances. I am also in the market for a washer and dryer. So Best Buy may loose all of my business. HokieNation awaits your reply.

Re: Best Buy Bundles

Hello, HokieNation,

Can you please clarify if this bundle is the one listed under “Frequently bought together”? If it is, there is a set of terms under the range upon selecting Offer disclaimer that could shed some light on the offer and what may have happened. This disclaimer shares the following information:

Promotional savings on the accessories listed may not be compatible with each other. If you remove any of the qualifying items from your cart or cancel all or part of your order, you will not receive the promotional savings. It's possible that adding another item to your cart may change the promotional savings offered.

Upon removing the two microwaves, it appears that the total savings and bundle pricing does not translate and are removed. We sincerely apologize for any conclusions you may have drew of what may happen to the proposed savings upon removing the two other items from the bundle.

Respectfully,

Re: Best Buy Bundles

Mariah, Even after I removed the two microwaves. It still gave me a bundle price of $616.30 for the two items. The website is misleading. And is the same as bait and switch. You think that you can put a cheaper price on the two items. And then jack them back up. That is ok. I will take my business some place else where there in no misunderstandings. How about that. You just lost another customer. I had intended on buying a range, hood, washer and dryer. HokieNation will buy some place where his business is appreciated.

Re: Best Buy Bundles

HokieNation,

We sincerely appreciate your feedback; however, we’re unable to replicate the issue. Again, per our terms of that promotion the lower pricing was a result of having all items in your cart.

Our Terms and Conditions for BestBuy.com notes that prices and promotions are subject to change, and may vary from those offered in our stores. It also shares we can only confirm the availability or price of an item after you place your order. Our order confirmation to you does not signify our acceptance of your order, nor does it constitute confirmation of our offer to sell. At any time after receipt of your order, we may accept, decline, or place quantity or other limits on your order for any reason.

Again, we appreciate the time you’ve taken to share with us and allowing us an opportunity to have this conversation. It’s our sincere hope you reconsider your position and are able to provide Best Buy another chance in the future to provide you an experience more in line with your expectations.

Re: Best Buy Bundles

Mariah, your website and company are pitiful. You engage in a practice that confuses the consumer. Even your own customer support people admit that it is unclear. It it pure and simple a bait and switch situation. You can highlight your TERMS AND CONDITIONS all you want. The fact is when you remove the two microwaves it still gives you a price for the two items at $616.30. I did not make up this figure. Also, when I purchased my TV I ordered a Rocketfish 4ft 4k hdmi cable. The TV arrived two days later at my house. The cable did not.I found out that it was sent to my P. O. Box. Why I have no idea. The post office refused to accept the package. It was returned to best buy. I called customer support after searching forever to find the number. I explained everything and was told if I reordered the cable they would make sure it would be sent to my physical address. I explained that I do not get my mail at my house. I was assured that it would be delivered to my house. Once again the cable was sent to the post office and not to my house. I called customer support and was told they had no control over who delivered the cable. Either UPS or FedEx was taking it to the post office and NO ONE AT CUSTOMER SUPPORT could help. That they could not guarantee that they could get the cable to my house. I adked for the phone number for best buy corporate head quarters and no one knew the number. That is totally unacceptable. Best buy.com had two chances to get me the cable. The first screw up was a mistake. The second time it was pure stupidity. And to continue to due the same thing and expect a different result is the definition of insanity. Which is what I would be if I continued to do business with Best Buy. I would end up insane. Your company is pitiful. I really do not understand how you manage to stay in business. Your customer support people are understanding. But, their hands are tied by stupid and unrealistic corporate policy like you tried to explain. Consumers beware of any deals or products purchased at bestbuy.com. HokieNation will look elsewhere to spend his money. He will go where his business is appreciated.

Re: Best Buy Bundles

HokieNation knew that there would be no response to my commen. I looked at the website again and of course the add I was talking about was removed. That it was why you could not replicate the bundle that I was talking about. There have been so many problems dealing with bestbuy.com that I would not feel comfortable doing business with your company. The company has shown no support for customer dissatisfaction. It is time to go elsewhere where my business will be appreciated.
