complaint for product

I drove an hour to bestbuy in conyers ga because I could not get anyone on the phone regarding the Openbox phone for Samsung note 8 Verizon.  The phone is being offered for 749.99. When I got to the store the employees were unaware of the phone at first and said they didn't have any. Informed them  it showed online of which one person looked   who stated it was showing.  The other guy stated well it would be regular price not 749.99i informed him and they looked it up.  I asked what made the phone an open item and he stated many things.  I asked him if it was opened in the phone or if it has ever been activated the gentleman told me no , that they couldn't sale activated phone in the store.  I wanted to check first with Verizon and was unable to get in touch with them.  Gave the person my information and said I would come back after talking to Verizon so I wouldn't have problems with activating I got the info off the box so they can no which phone..  Upon talking with Verizon  I was informed that if I bought the phone I would not be able to activate it because the records showed it had an outstanding balance on the phone.  I am very upset with the whole process which was waste of time, energy and gas.  I am disappointed that bestbuy is selling a phone that can't be activated.  Was unable to reach on contact manager because no one answering phone.  Could not find anywhere else place complaints

Getting a phone a better price is always a great option. It’s discouraging to hear that open-box item at your local Best Buy wasn’t able to be activated for you. I appreciate the time you’ve taken to share your experience with us. I’d also like to apologize for my delayed response due to the holiday season we’ve been busier than usual, and we’re doing our best to catch up.

 

Open-box items are such for a variety of reasons. I’m sorry that your local Best Buy in Conyers may not have properly check in the Samsung Note 8 that was previously activated on an account prior. Can you please send me a private message with the IMEI of the phone? I’d be happy to pass your concerns regarding this matter your local Best Buy’s leadership team for further internal review.
