Return or exchange

I purchased a Microsoft 850 keyboard and mouse kit for my mother around christmas time. My mother has not been able to open it and set it up until recently. She found out that the usb transiever that is supposed to come with the set to actually hook up the keyboard and mouse to the computer was not in the box. I looked all over inside of the box to see if it was misplaced. But it was supposed to be inside the mouse. When I brought this to best buy they found my reciept on their system and told me that I could not return it or exchange it because it was passed the 30 days. I asked them what I could do about the useless keyboard and the man said that he could throw it out for me. I just want to get another keyboard and mouse combo or store credit. I know i will not be able to get my money back which is understandable but I would at least like to be able to get a keyboard that works. I can not even connect it to my computer with a cord or anything. I called microsoft and they told me to figure it out with best buy for they cannot help me either. Please help.

Thanks for joining the Best Buy Community forums. I'm sorry to hear that you haven't been able to locate that receiver.


Under our Return & Exchange Promise, that would only have a 15-day return period, so we won't be able to accept a return at this juncture.


That said, do you still have the packaging that came with that product? We may be able to look through it to try to find the receiver for you. Alternatively, Microsoft may be able to help you out directly.


Please let me know if you still have that packaging. Based on that, we'll see what our best next steps are.
