FORMAL COMPLAINT

I am an Elite Plus customer. I purchased two series 5 Apple watches in your Bradenton location for my wife and myself on January 20, 2020. My issue is with the attempt to trade in my series 4 and her series 3. Your associate said the series 4 was worth $100.00 and the series 3 was worth $60.00 but we could not trade them in because we did not have the chargers. I do not believe that to be true. 

On January 24, 2020 I attempted to trade in the same two watches at your Brandon location along with the chargers. Your associate claimed the series 3 was only worth $21.00. He also stated we did not need the chargers! I looked at your website and read the descriptions between poor and good condition and both of these watches are definitely in good condition! I objected, he took it to the manager. I spoke to the manager he stated there was nothing he could do. He said the watch may have been worth $60.00 a couple of days ago but the value fluctuates daily and today that was what is was worth. I do not believe that statement either.

 

Is this a result of poor training or something much worse. How do I get this matter resolved?

The values do change all the time and they have to use what the computer system tells them as far as value.

Thanks for joining the Best Buy Community forums, and for being an Elite Plus My Best Buy member.

 

Best Buy Trade-In is a great way to save money on new purchases, but values can be finicky. It isn't uncommon for values to change significantly. We aren't able to manually change the value, as nckhammond said.

 

I have even seen changes between requiring chargers or not from time to time. 

 

As for condition, that is determined by the person who is inspecting the item. You can check the link above to see what the current trade-in value is if you send those watches to us by mail, if you'd prefer to go that way.
