Delayed processing Alineware R7


I ordered an Alienware R7 in store on December 26th with overnight shipping. The order was accepted and delivery date was set to December 28th. On the 28th I received an email with a new date of January 12th. This is unacceptable and feels like a deliberate bait and switch. I went back to the store and they are helpless on canceling or changing the delivery to in store. The store says I have to wait for the device to ship before I can cancel or change to in store pickup. I cannot have this device shipped to my home on the new date. Is there anyone at Best Buy that knows how Alienware ordering works and can fix this?

Thanks for the post! That’s a pretty exciting purchase. I can only imagine the disappointment in finding out it was delayed. That doesn’t sound like fun at all. Let’s look into this!


Using the information provided when you registered for the forums, I believe I was able to locate the order in question. I’m very pleased to see that it looks like it was delivered on December 28. I certainly apologize for email informing of the delay. Those sometimes work on a worst-case-scenario basis. I hope you enjoy the computer and please let me know if there’s anything else I can assist with!
