LG C9 OLED HDMI 2.1 Features Do Not Work As Advertised

I have had my 55" LG C9 for a couple months now and bought the Geek Squad 5 year warranty along with the TV. For the first month or so all my devices were connected to my AVR and then one output from the AVR to the LG C9, but my AVR did not support the passthrough of HDR and VRR, so I moved all my connections directly to the TV's HDMI inputs and had an HDMI from the TV's ARC/eARC port to my AVR. With this and Dolby Digital bitstream on my Xbox One X, there is a very noticable audio delay. Tried connecting to a soundbar with eARC and encountered the same issue. Switched my Xbox One X to uncompressed PCM format and I can't get full surround sound. Found this LG forum post of numerous other users with the same issue:

LG is not providing any responses as to if this will ever be fixed. I bought this TV specifically for these features and I cannot use them. I am now beyond my return period for the TV. I have the Geek Squad warranty for the next 5 years. Is there anything that you can do to help since these advertised features clearly do not work? Ideally, I would like to move to the 55" Sony A8G as a replacement as it's eARC features are fully developed and supported.

Correction on my part, 55" Sony A9G has the eARC features, not the A8G.

Hello, dapottsie,

Thanks for reaching out!

Having your fairly new TV not work as intended is never a good thing. And having something as important as this not work is certainly even worse. While an exchange may not be an option for us on our end I'd invite you to visit the store where you originally purchased your unit and working with leadership to see what they can do. Since the item is already outside of the return period, options may be limited. You are also able to work with LG directly to see if they offer a fix of any kind.

Let me know any other questions you may have!

Best,
