Re: 3D TV. Samsung, LG?

the fact that LG crowned the day with  so many awards from CES 2012 in Las vegas (report from CNET), makes LG the best.

Re: 3D TV. Samsung, LG?

Also that is only a mock model. Wait until a true production model comes to crown it the best.

Panasonic showed so much promise at CES for "value" plasmas and its VT was crowned king by a small margin.

When productions came out it had bad FBr. Then Samsung was crowned king, but then showed rainbowing and filter peeling along with mild FBr.

None of the above showed on the CES models. I have learned to not dub "kings" until real units hit reviewers hands

Panasonic is fixing the FBR on the 2011 models for anyone that calls them.

I know I have 2 and was a beta tester for the patch (which is now an aboard replacement as the patch had sensitive material that could not be mass distributed as it was unencrypted)

Re: 3D TV. Samsung, LG?

I bought a LG 55" LW5600 for a little less than $2,000 at BBY last year, which was chosen as the #1 matte-screen TV for bright rooms by CNET recently. It is perfect for my house cuz there is a lot of light during the day. The picture of my TV looks just as bright during the day as watching at night. This model doesn't have a bigger size than 55" but if you are willing to spend more, then there should be a higher level of this TV with larger sizes.

I think that Sammys quality is falling quite a bit. The Oled they had on the floor of ces did not look production ready at all. Lots of A/S problems and that new smart UI is like the desugner just threw up all over the screen.

LG is showing a lot of promise from the last few years with the highly rated 6500 and 5600 and some of thier plasmas as well. I hope they can get Oled up and out of the door in 2012 though.

no offense but consumer reports is the last place anyone should go for tv advice. And any noted site would never rank the passive lg set as the best 3d set out there not even close, that goes to panny and samsung 3d sets..

When you make a statement, it should be backed up with facts. Let me show you just a few… Plz tell me none of these below is a noted tech site you can recognize.
