Where to start?

Hello to all,

I moved into an apartment complex in the last 6 months that does not recycle, and it’s really bugging me lately. I personally take all my recycling to my parents who live nearby. I’ve always lived in places where they recycle, which is why it has not been a problem for me.

It’s recently left me wondering what can I do to convince the apartment management that they should consider recycling? I have not approached them about it and I personally don’t have a lot of knowledge; what can I do?

Re: Where to start?

Hi Karina-BBY,

I've honestly never lived in an apartment building that didn't have the usual recycling options, and I would suggest contacting your local government offices to see if it is legal for you apartment management to not offer these options. If your local government doesn't require your apartment management to offer recycling options, I would then suggest asking your local government was recycling services they do offer. Being that your apartment management is in the business to make money, the cheaper options you present to them (free would be ideal) the more receptive they will probably be. I hope this helps!

Thanks,
Allan
