I bought a pair of beats tour earphones from best buy yesterday but my friend said they wouldn't fit on my iphone 5 with my case because the plug for them goes to the side. I decided to bring them back and exchange them and an employee told me powerbeats has a plug that is straight and should work. However, after opening them I realized they also won't fit on my phone with the case on it either. Now since either way I will have to use an adapter I would like to either go back to the beats tour I originally had, or after hearing about the quality of the Beats earphones in general maybe get another brand completely. Either way I would like to know if Best Buy will take back a pair of opened powerbeats earphones I have not worn yet, even though I originally took back the Beats Tour I previously purchased to exchange for them. Everything is in the box and accounted for. I have the receipt and a 2 year protection plan. Additionally can anyone verify if Beats earphones are worth the price to buy or recommend another brand/earphone I can try? I prefer ones that just go in your ear not around them. Thanks!

I’m sorry to hear that these didn’t work out for you.
As long as you are within the 30 day return/exchange period and have the purchase receipt, you should be able to return or exchange those earphones.
The packaging being open doesn’t matter for returns as long as everything that comes with it is there.
Hope that this helps!
