Best buy repair junked my quasmio x305-q701 gaming laptop that I bought for 1399.00 now I would like to know what is comparable or what I can choose from that's equal to the quasmio, I understand there is a drop off in technology but what are we comparing, screen size, hard drive, chipset, price.
Which brings me to this I picked a ASUS G60vx-RBB05 that was 999.00 but wasn't satisfied with the hard drive so I returned it and ordered a G60VX-RBB09 witch is priced at 1100.00, they charged me a difference of 214.00. If I hadn't picked the 999.00 laptop and just ordered the 1100.00 laptop, would I be paying the 214.00. Any ideas? Thanks you in advance.

The store, not the customer, determines a comparable model based on performance and features.

so it can vary from this store to the one thats 10 minutes away. See that was the problem. at first they say this laptop is comparable but you might pay more than they find out its clearanced (g50vx) so than they say this laptop is comparable G60vx but im finding they pulled it off the website so im thinking it gonna be clearenced. Its just that they are going off of the 999.00 that was cheaper than the original and as i want to upscale it it cost me 214.00 when maybe it shouldnt. It just seems they grab one thats cheaper say its comparable. i dont agree that three different people of the same store will say three different laptops are comparable. I guess i can just return it all for store credit, and wait a few months. They refunded everything on a gift card and and they gave me a recept of sale for that.

OK they gave me what I wanted, refunded 214.00. So I guess the customer here decided what was appropriate, not the store.

While the store does have the final say, many will allow customer input, and sometimes they'll let them pick them out within reason.

Hey buster0509,
I’m glad to hear that your local store was able to help you out! To answer your original question though there are a few factors that are taken into consideration when determining a comparable computer:
• Processor speed
• Hard drive capacity
• Memory
• Screen size (for laptops and all-in-one computers)
Other hardware specifications may come into play as well, but it’s important to remember that our service plans do not guarantee the original purchase price – they guarantee the technology. In the event that a comparable model is not available then our stores have the ability to provide an upgrade model up to the purchase price of the original product. Any difference in price beyond that is the customer’s responsibility.
Please feel free to let me know if you have any additional questions. You can send me a private message by signing into the forums and then clicking on either my signature below or the letter icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
