Today I bought a PS3 and I decided not to get insurance on it. What would I have to do in order to get the insurance since i already have it in my possession (not opened as of yet)

If the policy has not changed I am pretty sure you can still purchase the protection plan during the return period.

Do I have to bring the ps3 with me? or can i just bring the receipt?

You have 30 days to purchase any black tie protection on the PS3. All they will need is the receipt and they can add the black tie protection for you. If you happened to lose the receipt you can have one re-printed. You do need to go to customer service though to get this added on and the cost for 2 years is right around $60 as I just bought a protection plan as well for my PS3!

You need to bring the unit with you , and Geek Squad has to verify the item is in new condition still to issue you a plan , so you dont scam them
