With regards to that website..... had a quick look and image manipulation is not something I want to spend time on. There's a few laugh's, but I have other things to do with my time.
A few things I'll touch on to look for in selecting your DSLR
lens.... the camera body will depreciate before your lens will. Choose good lenses.
cost.... Canon entry products are cheaper.... but lenses will cost more as you advance compared to Nikon. Biggest example is the 28-300mm for both makers. You save big money with Nikon.
Canon discounts their products around Xmas, but Nikon discounts their products in the summer. The two companies have different successful philosophies.
