i just purchased a gift card, not realizing it wasnt an visa/master/buy anything from anywhere card; its just for best buy
i didnt spend anything on the card, and i still have the receipt
will i be able to go back to the store and get my money in a visa (or whatever else) card? and if they dont sell those, can i just plain get my money back?

As long as you're within the return policy, I can't think of a reason why you couldn't return it.
No, we do not sell the "anywhere" cards, AFAIK.

Maybe a moderator can answer this one.
I have never known of any retailer that would give you a refund on a gift card.
The policy really doesn't say anything about refunds for a BB giftcard.
It does say you cannot get cash.
While these terms and condtions are applicable to Best Buy gift cards in general, some types of our gift cards may have different terms and condtions from those stated below. However, they can still be redeemed online.

Hi davidstereo,
Did you purchase the gift card at a Best Buy store location, or at another location like a grocery store or drug store?
