Hi chrisdonturner,
Getting a new Blu-ray movie for only $9.99 is a great deal! I can certainly understand your desire to do both the price match and use the manufacturer’s coupon at our store however, I am sorry the manager did not allow this.
In most cases, coupons are not permitted to be used with other offers such as sale prices or price matches, as generally stated on the coupon itself. With manufacturer coupons however, these exclusions are generally not listed, and therefore should be able to be used with most other offers. As long as the valid coupon contains the identifying Manufacturer Coupon label at the top, a barcode and the manufacturer’s address, the store should have no problem accepting it.
I would like to discuss this experience further with you, and have sent you a private message to start that discussion. To check your private messages, first ensure you are logged into the forum, and then click the envelope icon in the upper right corner of this page.

Melissa,
You hit the nail on the head, with Mfr. coupons not having the exclusions listed, you the retailer WILL get reinbursed "in most cases" for the discount given the consumer at point of purchase.
Then why not provide the added discount on top of whatever sale, closeout, or "door buster" deal offered. It will ONLY ensue in a happier shopper, one who refers others to your store for future sales.
And remember, this won't affect you bottom line as the cost is provided by the Mfr.

I recently had a problem like that, too. It's very upsetting, isn't it? What happened to the ol "Customer's always right" motto stores used to have.
