I just made my first payment on the online bill pay for HSBC but i never received any confirmation that my payment went through. Does HSBC/Best Buy send out emails to notify that the payment has been received? If so, when? My other credit cards normally give me an instant confirmation that i have made a payment submission and all that.

That is the same with us. When we pay our cards we get an instant email confirmation. In the case of our $10 payment to HSBC we DID NOT receive an email until after they cleaned out our account, and then still did not get one until we spoke to a supervisor at HSBC about them cleaning our account out. If we would have realized that they took $880 instead of $10 we would have called them and tried to resolve it immediately. We made the payment on 12/10/09 and received the receipt on 12/15/09 at 8:46 pm but only after speaking to the supervisor. I would suggest calling them immediately to make sure they took the correct amount or you may end up like us.

On both my HSBC cards I receive notice the evening to the next day after payment depending on when the payment goes through. For example if its the morning I get notice that evening.

HSBC does send an email confirmation; however it’s when the payment is posted to your account as opposed to immediately after the payment is made. Therefore, depending on the day you make the payment, it may be a few business days to receive the follow-up email.

I concur with the previous blogger..... have a similar experience.
On Saturday July 31st, I made a payment for a purchase a couple weeks earlier. Paid then entire amount via the telephone customer service line. I was given a confirmation number and I also got a message that I would receive an email confirmation .... today is Tuesday (August 3rd) and my payment due date is tomorrow .... What's up, HSBC and Best Buy????? ..... are you going to process my payment before or after tomorrow's due date? ....
Not going to be happy if my payment monies remain in my bank account until after tomorrow, and then get charged with interest and late fee !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
