To anyone who reads this, DO NOT go to the mobile install bay and ask them to install anything in your car. The install will be at best a Gerry rig.
I went over there the other day and asked them to install an aftermarket aux unit so I can plug my iPhone into my car stereo. I have a 2004 Honda Accord with the factory stereo. Getting inside the dash can be difficult, so I decided to take it down to Best buy to have it "professionally" installed. What a mistake. They at least got the aux unit plugged in. I have to set the stereo on XM to get it to work, so, yes, it works, but not ready to say it works correctly.
The first thing I noticed when I got the car back, was the control unit to switch the aux ports was velcro stuck to the back of the center console pocket instead of flush mounted as it was designed to be. The extra cable could have been hidden behind the panel, but, no, they left them hanging out. Not very clean if you ask me. I decided to take the car home and do it myself. After what they did, I didn't want them touching my car again.
When I got the center console apart, I noticed the aux unit was just shoved into a corner inside the dash. It was relatively snug, but I would've thought they would try to mount it somehow. I cut the hole in the console pocket and flush mounted the control box as it was supposed to be.
The next day, I went back to Best Buy and spoke with the installer. I showed Victor what I was expecting when I asked him to do the work and he was receptive to my feedback. He offered to get me a Best Buy gift card from the manager to compensate for my having to go back and finish his job. I agreed and we went inside to speak with the manager. When we explained the situation to the manager, he was completely unreceptive and flatly refused to cooperate. He even went so far as to try to convince me this problem was my fault. I tried to reason with him, but he stated he had no obligation to reimburse me for my time because "I'm not on Best Buy's payroll." Hate to tell ya, buddy, but I hope to never be on Best Buy's payroll.
If anyone from Best Buy bothers to read this, please close my points account. I have no intention of using those points or ever doing business with Best Buy again.

Hello jrichard642,
Thank you so much for visiting our forums!
It sounds like you encountered less than mediocre service, after you visited our Raleigh store in regards to the installation of your iPod dock into your Honda. I wish that they would have been able to get everything taken care of for you; I would like to offer you my sincere apologies. If I was in the same predicament, I would want to store to step up and redo the installation.
It sounds like you ended up fixing the installation yourself, and did not want our store to fix the mistake you stated they did. That is totally understandable. I am crafting up a private message for you. To check your private messages, ensure you are logged into our forum and click on the envelope in the upper right hand corner.
I look forward to speaking with you further!
