Best Buy & Geek Squad Policies

I purchased the camera insurance thing with my camera back in February. Unfortunately, I lost my camera last night. Does the policy cover lost cameras?

I don't think so.  I'm sorry.   The accidental coverage add on to the GSBTP warranty wouldn't even cover lost or stolen items I'm pretty sure.

Correct, the Geek Squad Black Tie Protection does not cover loss or theft. How was the camera paid for?

Credit card. My dad bought my camera back in August 2008 and it broke in October 2008. Sent it to be repaired and didn't get it back until January. Because of the policy, I was able to replace it and purchased a new policy.

I don't think it was with a best buy credit card. Could I still get a refund?

You can refund the service plan since the camera is no longer in your possession.

Depends on how much the service plan way and how long you have had the camera. When you do the return in the store, the point of sale system will automatically calculate how much you will be getting back.
